Andrey Maryanovich Levus ( Ukrainian: Andriy Mar'yanovich Levus ; born August 9, 1982 , Stryi , Lviv Region , USSR , USSR ) - Ukrainian public and political figure. People's Deputy of Ukraine of the VIII convocation from the Popular Front party, deputy chairman of the All-Ukrainian public association " Self-defense of the Maidan " [1] . Education
He graduated from Stryi Secondary School No. 3. In 2002, he graduated from the Faculty of History of Ivan Franko Lviv National University.
Political career
As a schoolboy, in 1994 joined the Union of Independent Ukrainian Youth [1] .
In the second half of the 2000s, he headed the "Ukrainian Information Service", in 2010, together with the former head of the SBU, Valentin Nalyvaichenko, became a co-founder of the Public Initiative "Country Renewal" [1] .
He was one of the coordinators of the association “Free People” [2] , was a member of the organizing committee “Resistance” and the initiative “Renewal of the country” [3] . In the parliamentary elections of 2012, Valentina Nalyvaichenko headed the headquarters in the Zborovsky district of the Ternopil region [4] .
He was an active participant in the Euromaidan , led the commandant's office " Self-Defense of the Maidan " and was deputy commandant of the Maidan for propaganda work [5] [6] .
On February 26, 2014, by the decree of the acting president of Ukraine, Alexander Turchinov, he was appointed deputy head of the SBU [7] . In this post he was engaged in staff appointments, assistance to volunteer battalions participating in the ATO , and the release of prisoners [8] . On November 24, 2014, by decree of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, he was relieved of his post in connection with his election to the Verkhovna Rada [9] .
→ === People’s Deputy of Ukraine === In the parliamentary elections of 2014, he went to the Verkhovna Rada according to the list of the Popular Front party, according to the quota “Independence Square [10] ”. He is the chairman of the subcommittee of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense [11] , the permanent delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO and the group on interparliamentary relations with Israel and Latvia [12] .
In March 2015, he took the initiative to ban residents of the aggressor state (which the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine recognized Ukraine) from owning enterprises of the country's natural monopolies [13] .
On November 1, 2018, Russian sanctions were imposed against 322 citizens of Ukraine, including Andriy Levus [14] .
She participated in the early parliamentary elections of 2019 from the European Solidarity Party (29th place on the party list [15] ).

Scandals
On December 4, 2014, after an attack by the militants of the Caucasus Emirate terrorist organization on Grozny in the Chechen Republic , Andrei Levus commented on the incident in his Facebook account to parody Russian statements regarding the situation in the Donbass. In particular, he called for a hearing in the Caucasus and a dialogue with Chechen activists , describing the attackers as Chechen militias fighting to uphold their constitutional rights. In particular, for the real federalization of Russia, right up to the realization of the constitutionally guaranteed right to self-determination through a referendum [17] .
In response, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, through his Instagram instructed local law enforcement agencies to institute criminal proceedings against people's deputies Andrei Levus, Yuri Bereza and Igor Mosiychuk , and bring them to the region, because they spoke out in favor of assisting such gang raids [18] . And the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case under Art. 205.2 of the Criminal Code (public calls for terrorist activities or public justification of terrorism) [19] .
In January 2016, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, at the request of the Ukrainian Choice organization, began a pre-trial investigation against Andriy Levus under Article 2 of Article 383 of the Criminal Code (knowingly untruthful report of a crime) because of his accusation against its leader Viktor Medvedchuk of involvement in separatism . On January 26, the case was closed due to the lack of corpus delicti [20] .
