Biography
He graduated from the Konstantinovsky Cadet Corps in 1858, was released as lieutenant to the Astrakhan Grenadier Regiment . In 1861, the Volyn Regiment was transferred to the Life Guards , in which he served for 23 years and participated in hostilities.
In 1870 and 1872, with the rank of captain, he was sent to Berlin and Vienna to study the structure of military bakeries. In 1872, at the Highest Command, he arranged in Warsaw the first advanced military bakery in the Russian Empire with ovens of the Vikgorst system, which he began to manage, supplying bread to the Volyn Regiment. This bakery served as a model for the improvement of military bakeries in other units.
In 1884, with the rank of colonel, he was appointed commander of the 30th Poltava Infantry Regiment.
In 1891 he was promoted to major general and was appointed commander of the 2nd Brigade of the 7th Infantry Division. He was the chairman of two barracks building commissions - first in Garwolin , on the construction of the barracks for the 37th Dragoon Order Regiment, then - in Krasnik Posad, for the 70th Ryazhsky Infantry Regiment.
