Subordinate to the administrative district of Meschede . It is part of the Hochsauerland district. The population is 20,800 people (as of December 31, 2010). [1] It covers an area of 182.01 km². The official code is 05 9 58 024 .
The city is divided into 17 urban areas.
Geography
Marsberg is located about 29 km. south of Paderborn and 3 km. from the border of the state of Hesse in the Dimel river valley, into which the tributary of the Glinde flows into the city center. Geographically, Marsberg is located between the city of Brilon (in the west), the highland plain of Sintfeld, the landscape of Red Land (in the east) and the natural park Dimelsee. To the north, Marsberg borders on the Teutoburg Forest Nature Park.
The center of Marsberg is located at an altitude of about 250-255 m above sea level (the exact value at the station of Marsberg is 249.8 m.). The suburb of Marsberg is located between 206 meters above sea level east of the village of Westheim and 594.6 meters above sea level near Mount Eisenberg at the Dimelsee reservoir.
