The city lies on the west bank of the Nice River, and the station is on the right. After World War II, the new eastern border of Germany passed along the Neisse and the city lost its station. Only in 1948, passengers could use the station located now in Poland for boarding the Görlitz - Zittau line trains. This was carefully monitored by the Polish military so that it was impossible to deviate from the prescribed route or platforms.
