The twenty-seventh book from the Flat World series, the seventh book from the series about the wizard Rincewind .
Unlike most of Terry Pratchett’s works, the story of Cohen the Barbarian’s last feat was originally created as an alloy of literary content and graphic form. [one]

Annotation
Once upon a time, the great Hero stole Fire from the gods. Since then, everything has changed. Heroes became ... obsolete. They are still invincible and all that, but they are becoming less and less ... and less ... And new ones are not born.
And once Cohen-Barbarian looked from his throne to the Agate Empire on his subjects, to the great and terrible Silver Horde, and realized that they were the last. And after them there will be no one. So, it is precisely on them that the Last Duty of Heroes lies - to return the Fire to the gods.
With interest.

Allusions
Like all Pratchett’s books, The Last Hero contains a huge number of allusions and references to works of art in our real world. For example, a conversation between a patrician and Leonard about the dangers lurking in inventions is an allusion to the emperor’s words from Ray Bradbury ’s short story “A Man in the Air”. Leonardo’s words “Look at the birds!” Are the last words of this story.
