In 1891, he was a professor at the University of Würzburg , and from 1903 he was a university at the University J. Güsien
Made in 1884 - 1886 . travel to Venezuela and Colombia , studied the Northwest and Caribbean Andes. In 1891 - 1893 again traveled to Venezuela. In 1909 , he visited Peru and Ecuador . On each of the three trips Zivers published a book.
From 1891, under the general editorship of Sievers, the 6-volume series “World Geography” (“ German. Allgemeine Länderkunde ”), published by the Bibliographic Institute in Leipzig (Russian translation 1902-08), began to be published. For the 2nd edition of this series, Zievers wrote Asia (1904, Russian translation, 1908), South and Central America (1903, Russian translation, 1908).
