Crael Crater ( lat. Crile ) is a small impact crater in the northeastern part of the Swamp of Sleep on the visible side of the Moon . The name was given in honor of the American surgeon George Washington Creel (1864-1943) and approved by the International Astronomical Union in 1976.

Crater Description
The closest neighbors of the Krill Crater are Lyell Crater in the west; Proclus crater in the north-northeast; Glacier crater in the east-southeast and Watt and Leonardo Da Vinci craters in the south. To the west of the crater is the Sea of Tranquility ; in the east - the Sea of Crisis , in the south-west - the Bay of Concord [2] . Selenographic coordinates of the center of the crater are , diameter 9.3 km [3] , depth 2 km [4] .
The Krill Crater has a circular bowl shape. The shaft is slightly smoothed, the inner slope of the shaft is smooth. The shaft height above the surrounding area reaches 330 m [5] , the volume of the crater is approximately 30 km³ [5] . According to morphological characteristics, the crater belongs to the ALC type (according to the name of a typical representative of this class - Al-Battani Crater C ).
Before receiving its own name in 1976, the crater was designated Proclus F (in the designation of the so-called satellite craters located in the vicinity of a crater with its own name).
