Up to 34 cm long, weighing up to 210 gr. The bird is dark blue with a black head, physique similar to magpie .
It lives in the mountains, deserts and steppes of Mexico , Guatemala and Honduras .
The bird eats the stems and fruits of cacti , seeds, insects, eggs and chicks, small rodents and reptiles.
