Biography
Gustav Friedrich Partai was born in the family of a financial adviser; his family was very rich. He graduated from Grauen-Kloster High School in Berlin, then studied philosophy and philology at the universities of Berlin and Heidelberg, and received his Ph.D. in 1820. After completing the training, he made scientific trips on ratsii, England, Italy, Greece, Egypt and Palestine.
In 1824 he married, from 1825 he lived again in Berlin. In 1857, Gustav Friedrich Partai became a member of the Berlin Academy of Sciences. Managed the bookstore of his maternal grandfather, Friedrich Christoph Nicolai (since 1825, when his father died), privately engaged in historical and artistic research, published his articles in scientific journals, collected old books.
The main works are Siciliae antiquae tabula (1834), Wanderungen durch Sicilien und die Levante (1834–40), Das alexandrinische Museum (1837), Mirabilia Romae (1869) [3] .
