History

The Taiga City District was founded on December 17, 2004 in accordance with the Law of the Kemerovo Region No. 104-OZ ^[2] .

From the point of view of the administrative-territorial structure, it is located on the territory of the city of regional subordination Taiga with administratively subordinate settlements in accordance with the Law of the Kemerovo region "On the administrative-territorial structure of the Kemerovo region" N 215-OZ dated December 27, 2007 ^[3] .

By order of the Government of the Russian Federation dated July 29, 2014 No. 1398-r “On approval of the list of single-industry towns”, the city district was included in the category “Single-industry municipalities of the Russian Federation (single-industry cities), in which there are risks of worsening socio-economic conditions” ^[4] .
