History

1958-1991

The team was founded in 1958 on the basis of the Petrel team. Previously called the "Vanguard." Under the current name, Tavria has been performing since 1963. The first match, "Tavria" held April 20, 1958 with the "Chemist" from Yaroslavl (0: 0).

The club was part of the DSO Lokomotiv [2] .

In 1973, Tavria won the Second League of the USSR and entered the First League .

In 1980, the team won the First League and entered the Premier League . In the Major League of 1981, Tavria took 17th place, overtaking only Pakhtakor and flew to the First League.

In the 1986/87 season, Tavria reached the semifinals of the USSR Cup (record for participants in the second league), where they lost to Dynamo Minsk (0: 2).

The last match in the framework of the USSR championship took place on November 8, 1991 in Yekaterinburg with Uralmash (2: 6).

1992-1999

In 1992, Tavria became the first champion of independent Ukraine , defeating Dynamo Kyiv (1: 0) in the final match in Lviv . The only goal in a duel from the filing of Andrei Oparin in the 76th minute was scored by Sergey Shevchenko. Then the team was coached by Anatoly Zayaev , and Yuri Gudimenko became the top scorer - scoring 12 goals.

After the club became the champion, the team got the right to participate in the Champions League , first Tavria defeated Shelburne (0: 0, 2: 1), and in the 1st round they lost to the Swiss Sion (1: 4, 1: 3).

In the 1993/94 season , the team reached the final of the Cup of Ukraine , where they lost to the Odessa “ Chernomorets ” in the penalty shoot-out (3: 5).

2000-2009

In the summer of 2006, a number of players left the team, including Chizhevsky , Junior , Litovchenko , Kornev , Golovko and Stargorodsky , and Fomenko invited Golaido , Vasilyauskas , Omoko , Zelmikas and Lyubenovich in their place [3] [4] [5] . On the television program Football Weekend, one of the leaders of Tavria talked about a sensational deal with Diego Tristan . “I was sent information about Tristan, who defended the colors of the Spanish national team, its transfer price is $ 490,000. However, we think why this player is so cheap, apparently, is not in the best shape. And he wants to get 350 thousand euros, this is an excessive amount for us. ” Naturally, the deal did not take place.

According to the results of the first half of the 2006/07 season , Tavria reached the Cup semifinal, defeating the Dneprodzerzhinsk Steel in the quarterfinals (5: 1). In the semifinals, Tavria lost to Shakhtar Donetsk (0: 0 and 2: 2 due to an away goal).

In December 2006, the contract was renewed with head coach Mikhail Fomenko, and sports director Reuben Aronov was fired [6] . In January 2007, about 50 people were viewing in Tavria [7] [8] . The club also signed the Nigerian striker Lucky Idahor [9] . On May 13, 2007, in a match against Zaporizhzhya Metallurg (5: 1) [10] Idachor scored a hat-trick. In the 2006/07 season, Vladimir Gomenyuk became a real discovery, having become the team’s top scorer, he scored 8 goals, Tavria took a worthy 5th place this season [11] .

In the 2008/09 season, Alexander Kovpak , having scored 17 goals, became the Premier League top scorer.

2010—2014

May 16, 2010 Tavria won the Ukrainian Cup for the first time, beating the Metallurg team from Donetsk in the final in extra time. On July 4, 2010, in the match for the Ukrainian Super Bowl , Tavria met Shakhtar Donetsk, as a result, the Pitmen won with a crushing score (7: 1), Maxim Feshchuk scored the only goal for Tavria.

At the beginning of the 2012/13 season, FIFA imposed a ban on transfer activities on the club. This decision was made based on the Afolaby case. FIFA, having examined the Abdulvahid case, ordered the Simferopol residents to pay monetary compensation to the player, and also imposed sanctions on the club - a ban on the registration of players during the next two transfer periods. In October, a 24-year-old Belgian defender Anthony Vanden Borre was seen, who signed a contract with Tavria, calculated until the end of the season. However, due to insufficient salaries, he had to leave the club a few weeks later. Tavria took 11th place in the Premier League.

In the 2013/14 season, Giannis Christopoulos was appointed the new Tavria coach. In the opening match of the season, “Tavria” suffered a home defeat from Lugansk “Dawn” (0: 2). The double was designed by the midfielder of the Ukrainian team , Dmitry Khomchenovsky . Ex-player of the "Black Sea" Luchan Burduzhan November 8, 2013 signed a contract with the club. Romanian became the first newcomer after the lifting of the transfer ban, which was imposed on UEFA Crimeans. By the end of the first half of the year, he managed to correct the club’s position at the beginning of the season, but the club’s management was not quite a result, since Tavria was in the relegation zone.

From the second half of the season, Tavria’s coach was Nikolai Kostov , who had previously coached Ukrainian teams. The main acquisition of this offseason was considered a player of the Macedonian national team defender Boban Grncharov .

In the 30th round of the national championship, Tavria lost 0: 3 to Mariupol Illichivets in their field, after which they remained in 15th place. Thus, together with the Arsenal club (which had withdrawn from the championship due to financial problems), the team left the ranks of the UPL participants to participate in the first football league in Ukraine [12] . In connection with the accession of Crimea to the Russian Federation, the club ceased to exist [13] .

Since 2016

In September 2015, the President of the Football Federation of Ukraine Andriy Pavelko announced the beginning of the revival of Tavria in Kherson . According to Pavelko, this decision was agreed with UEFA so that Tavria could represent Ukraine in European competition [14] . For Tavria in Kherson, it was planned to build a stadium under the UEFA hat-trick program [15] . An initiative group for the revival of Tavria was formed, led by Sergey Kunitsyn [16] .

Due to difficulties in finding an investor and allocating land for the construction of a stadium in Kherson, the Tavria revival initiative group has chosen the city of Berislav as the club’s base, which already has the necessary infrastructure for the club. It was announced the creation of a working group, which ultimately made up the club’s budget for participation in the amateur championship of Ukraine , and also began looking for players and staff [17] . On August 27, 2016, the constituent assembly of the Crimean Football Federation was held in Berislav, at which the issue of resuming the activities of the Tavria football club (Simferopol) was considered [18] .

On August 29, 2016, FC Tavria (Simferopol) was announced to compete in the Ukrainian Football Championship among amateur 2016/17 [19] . In the final table of its group, the club took 9th place.

In the summer of 2017, Tavria received professional status and in the 2017/18 season played in Group B of the Second League of Ukraine . In the final round 33, Tavria won a record victory for the club, defeating Metallurg with a score of 9: 0 [20] . According to the results of the season, the team took 4th place in the group, losing to the Energia team , which is located on the third step of the table, due to the worst difference between the goals scored and the goals conceded.

Club Anthems

The anthem was written by Valery Malyshev in the summer of 2005 [21] . Malyshev himself is a fan of Kiev Dynamo [21] . As early as 1998, a hymn was written in honor of the club’s 40th anniversary, performed by Yuri Bogatikov [21] .

Stadium

RSK Lokomotiv

Until 2014, the Tavria football club performed at the Lokomotiv republican sports complex, located at Simferopol, st. Pushkina, 46. The stadium was built in 1967 and reconstructed in 2004, currently accommodates a little less than 20,000 spectators. Since 2014, this stadium has become home to the club TSK-Tavria . After its restoration in 2016, the club began performing in Ukraine, based on the Mashinostrotel stadium, Berislav.

In February 2010, club president Sergei Kunitsyn announced that a new stadium would be built in Simferopol [22] .
