The AllMusic music website briefly describes him as “a country rock singer who, from autobiographical songs reflecting his blessed Ki-West lifestyle, built an extensive parrothead empire” (note: parrothead is nickname for Jimmy fans Buffett) [3] .

As AllMusic writes [3] ,

"Jimmy Buffett made out of his good-natured and carefree persona from the Gulf Coast something more than a successful musical career - he expanded his field of activity for clothes, nightclubs and literature - but the basis of his business empire, thanks to which he kept on the list of artists with Fortune magazine's highest income was his music."

For the first time in the Hot 100 "Billboard" he got in 1974 with the song "Come Monday" [3] [4] (about the separation of husband and wife). For some time he became a pop star with the song Margaritaville and the album where she entered - Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes of 1977, which reached the top ten of “Billboard” - in which he expressed his own AllMusic website, "tropical worldview" [3] .

In 2015, Jimmy Buffett spoke at the University of Miami's graduation ceremony and received an honorary doctorate in music. Wearing flip-flops and aviator sunglasses, he told the graduates, in the paraphrase of the song "in Pangkalpinag work", that "it was time to see the world, time to kiss the girl, and time to cross the wild Meridians."

Politically Buffett the Democrat.
