The name of the album is based on the words of Hieromonk Seraphim (Rose) : “ Now later than we think. Apocalypse is already underway! " [1] . Konstantin Kinchev explained the name as follows [1] :
“It is useful to think about what is now later than we think, since death, it overtakes each of us. And often, as a rule, all of a sudden. ”

History
In March 2003, the Alisa group began recording the album at the Dobrolet studio in St. Petersburg . In summer, the group recorded material in Germany in the city of Cologne . The mixing lasted until mid-July. From that moment, the group began working with a German sound engineer: it was he who worked on all subsequent albums. In “Now later than you think” there were working names: “Antichrist” and “Sky of the Slavs”.
In September, the shooting of video clips for the songs "Homeland" and "Sky of the Slavs" took place. In early October, the single “Without a Cross” was released, which included the songs “Homeland”, “Without a Cross” (with Chizh ), a concert version of “Songs Without Words” and a video clip for the song “Homeland”. On October 15, the album "Now is Late Than You Think" was released. Clips for the songs “Sky of the Slavs” and “Antichrist” (concert) were also released. Their rotation on television was reduced to a minimum [2] . In October, a press conference was held on the release of the album, which was attended by Deacon Andrei Kuraev and Navy Representative Igor Dygalo .
Since the release of the album until the end of November, a tour was held in the cities of Russia , Belarus and Ukraine , dedicated to the release of the new album and the band's twentieth anniversary. After the end of the tour in late November, the founders left the band - guitarist Andrei Shatalin and drummer Mikhail Nefyodov .
The last home concert of the group in classical composition was recorded and released on the disc “ We are Together XX Years ”.

- "Homeland" was recorded with the participation of the daughter of Konstantin Kinchev, Vera. She also sang her part at most concerts during the performance of this song. A video clip was shot on the composition; filming took place in September 2003. It was written in the Leningrad Region (Szabo) 04.21.2001 [3] .
- “The Sky of the Slavs,” according to Konstantin Kinchev’s definition, “this song is not about blood analysis, but about the fact that we are all of the same faith, that is, united in faith, united in love for the Motherland, united in pride in our country and its history, united in the desire not to muck what has been created over the centuries, but muck to stop miscreants ” [4] . The song was written on the train St. Petersburg-Moscow 10.22.2000. It was first performed in St. Petersburg on the air of Radio Nostalgie on December 15, 2000. The group "Fedorino Gora" made a cover version of the song in female choral performance. The song is actively performed by fans of the Zenit football club.
- “Unruly” was written in Moscow (Pokrovka) on November 14, 2002.
- “Without the Cross” was written in Moscow (Pokrovka) on 06/04/2002.
- “Dirt” was only included in the second edition of the album. It was first performed in acoustic version on February 6, 2002 on Radio Chanson in the Strizh Time program. It was written in the Leningrad Region (Szabo) on April 22, 2001.
- "The Riders" is the central song of the album by its power and drama according to Konstantin Kinchev [1] . “In the song“ Riders ”I take only an episode of the Apocalypse - the appearance of the Messengers of the Signs, I call them“ Oprichniks of Heaven “. But at the same time, I wanted to put into this song all the mysterious meaning of the End of the World Force, the inevitability of the Victory of God over the devil. And the poetic form is a very capacious thing, therefore, in order to achieve the power of the sensation that the reading of the Apocalypse caused me, I simply allowed myself to swap the riders. I tried to put in one song the whole essence of the Revelation of John the Theologian. But the point is that the Light will triumph ” [5] .
- "Antichrist" was written first, and the rest of the songs gathered around him [1] . It was originally planned to create a hard, revealing album around the song, but when other songs appeared, the emphasis changed [6] . The song was born not without the influence of Marilyn Manson [6] . The video clip, which is a recording of the performance of a song at the concert “We Are Together XX Years,” was broadcast on television. "Antichrist" was written in the Leningrad Region (Szabo) on 10/01/1999.
- "Monk, warrior and buffoon" was written on 10/18/2001 in Vladivostok. The sound of the hall (“My Bright Russia”) was recorded in St. Petersburg in the summer of 2003 [7] . Konstantin Kinchev said that for a person entering the stage, it is important to be a prophet, a jester and a warrior, and for him the closest thing is buffoonery [8] .
- “Zvanye” is the most important song from the album according to Konstantin Kinchev: [1] the songs “Dirt” and “Without a Cross”, in my opinion, are, as it were, the forerunner of such songs as “Riders” and “Antichrist”, which in their it’s the turn that sets the stage for the album’s main dominant - the songs “The Sounds” ” [9] . The song was written in Moscow (Pokrovka) on 11/14/2000.
- "Soul" was first performed in acoustic version on June 8, 2001 at a concert in the concert hall of Oktyabrsky. Program: “A little fire in the middle of the way ...” Speakers: AliceA, Chizh and Picnic. After the song was performed, Kinchev said: “The song premiered unexpectedly.” The song was written in Moscow (Pokrovka) on 11/13/2000.
