Antifraud in e-commerce
It is also customary to refer to anti-fraud fraud monitoring of online payments by bank cards (fraud monitoring of CNP operations ) passing through online stores . At present, no more than two dozen major antifraud services providing online payment security are popular in the world. In Russia, in addition to banks, antifraud service is offered to online stores by almost all payment solutions.
Standard Antifraud Services Rules
Almost all limitations or limits of fraud monitoring solutions are based on simple rules:
- limiting the number of purchases on one bank card or one user for a certain period of time
- limit on the maximum amount of a one-time purchase on one card or by one user in a certain period of time
- limit on the number of bank cards used by one user during a certain period of time
- limit on the number of users using one card
- accounting of purchases with bank cards and users (the so-called “black” or “white” lists)
A mandatory requirement for the implementation of such rules is the recognition of the user by various parameters and algorithms. Accordingly, the advantage of the anti-fraud service is determined by its ability to quickly and with the maximum degree of probability to recognize a fraudster. Another advantage of fraud monitoring is the ability to assess the behavior of the buyer in the process of making a payment. The extent to which truthful information is indicated by a person and the extent to which a set of user parameters corresponds to the standard behavior patterns of respectable customers are additional factors that fraud monitoring services try to take into account when assessing the likelihood of fraud.
