MES of Western Siberia (Main electric networks of Western Siberia) is a branch of the Open Joint-Stock Company Federal Grid Company of the Unified Energy System (JSC FGC UES ), which operates transmission lines (VL) and electrical substations (substations) with a voltage class of 220-500 kV on the territory of the Ural Federal District (Ural Federal District).

MES Western Siberia is a link in the Unified National Electric Network of Russia. Its service area includes 3 subjects of the Russian Federation with a population of over 3.5 million people: the south of the Tyumen region , the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug . MES Western Siberia serves more than 12.713 thousand km of power lines and 84 substations with a total transformer capacity of 36,550 MVA. The branch provides electrical communication between the UES of Siberia and the UES of the Urals . Four main transmission network enterprises (PMES) are under operational subordination - Yamalo-Nenets, Central, Eastern and Southern.
Tasks of MES Western Siberia
- the provision of services for the transmission and distribution of electrical energy;
- the provision of services for connection to electric networks;
- the provision of services for the collection, transfer and processing of technological information, including measurement and accounting data;
- operation of electrical networks and other facilities of the electric grid economy and their technological management;
- operation of technological communication networks, measuring and accounting equipment, relay protection equipment and emergency control equipment and others related to the operation of the electric grid facilities, technological equipment, as well as their technological management;
- development of electric networks and other electric grid facilities, including design, engineering surveys, construction, reconstruction, technical re-equipment, installation and commissioning.
History
The branch was established on May 12, 2005 by order No. 108 of the Chairman of the Management Board of JSC FGC UES in accordance with the decision of the Board of Directors of JSC FGC UES (Minutes No. 20 dated December 28, 2004), as well as to ensure reliable operation and development of backbone electric networks.
