Samsung Electronics Vietnam (SEV) is the Vietnamese subsidiary of Samsung Electronics , a South Korean corporation; as of 2014, it is Vietnam's second largest company [1] [2] [3] , the largest foreign investor in the Vietnamese economy (over $ 11 billion) [4 ] and the fastest growing company in the country [5] . The headquarters and main manufacturing facilities of Samsung Electronics Vietnam are located in Baknin Province. Other factories for the production of electronics are located in the province of Thingyuen and Ho Chi Minh City , research centers - in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City [6] [7] [8] [9] .

Samsung Electronics Vietnam manufactures mobile phones (including the Galaxy S4 ), tablets (including the Galaxy Tab ), televisions, printers, refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines and electronic components. At the end of 2014, about 35% of Samsung mobile phones supplied to the world market were manufactured at the company's factories in Vietnam [10] . In addition to the electronics industry, the Samsung group invests heavily in energy ( Hachin Province), shipbuilding ( Khanh Hoa Province) and Vietnam's airports [6] .
History
Samsung Electronics Vietnam was founded in 2008, and in April 2009, it launched a factory in Baknin. In 2013, Samsung Electronics Vietnam exported phones and parts for $ 23.9 billion, accounting for 18% of Vietnam's total exports. By 2014, five Samsung Electronics factories were operating in the country [11] [12] . In March 2014, the company opened a second smartphone factory in Thayinguen [13] [14] .
