Immediately after the broadcast of the second season Durarara !! (under the name Durarara !! x2 Shou ) a minute preview was shown, which refers to the manga of Asumiko Nakamura, who will receive anime adaptation. The main working personnel, the two main characters, as well as the studio, which will be engaged in adaptation, were announced. Manga already has an adaptation in the form of the Drama CD , where the main characters are voiced by Kenji Nojima (Richito) and Hiroshi Kamiya (Hikaru), in the anime they will also be the main characters.

One of the best students in the school, Rihito Sadjo, did not even open his mouth in the classroom. His classmate Hikaru was interested in this: maybe he doesn't like to sing or is he too good to sing? Returning to class, Hikaru notices Rihito sitting on the desk, who diligently learns the lyrics of the song. Hikaru decides to help his classmate to better understand the notes, and then offers to practice singing together in his spare time, because the festival is not far off. It turned out that Rihito simply did not see the words of the song written on the board because of the insufficient clarity of his glasses. Two classmates are gradually becoming closer to each other, but not at all like friends.

Rihito Sadjo ( Jap. 佐 条 利人 Sadjo: Riito ) is a high school student known for his academic achievements, but he himself is not good at music. He has short black hair and an almond-shaped eye slit. He wears glasses since kindergarten, his vision is lower than 0.1, in both eyes. He has neutral eating habits, but if he had to choose something, he would have chosen squid . Rihito was born in the late fall, and he is the eldest son. His mother used to live in Kyoto , and his father - in Yokohama . His grandfather was a professor of Christianity , now lives in New Zealand . Rihito's first love was a sixth grader who was a leader in his team. In cooking, Rihito does not show success: he cannot even prepare food for himself.

Hikaru Kusakabe ( jap. 草 壁 光 Kusakabe Hikaru ) is a classmate of Rihito. He has golden hair and lowered eyes. He knows how to play the guitar and even was in the group until it broke up in high school. Hikaru does not shine with success in all school disciplines, but the music is good for him. He likes the songs of British rock bands and old j-pop . Hikaru hopes to get a job in the music field. He also works hard on his cooking skills, although he keeps it secret. He was born at the beginning of summer, and he is the second child in the family (the first child is his older sister, with whom he has a rather good relationship). A little later, Hikaru will receive a motorcycle driving license.

Sayyu: Hiroshi Kamiya (in Drama CD and Anime)

Manabu Hara ( Jap. 原 学 Hara Manabu ) is a 37-year-old music teacher at the school where Richitho and Hikaru are studying, a bachelor. His students love to give Manabu nicknames such as Sekuhara (from Sexual Harassment) or Hara-sensei. He was in love with his student, Sadjo. Manabu is an openly gay man, he repeatedly visited a gay club, where he met a 15-year-old Sorano, who goes to school where he teaches.

Aoto Sorano ( Jap. 青 砥 空 乃 Sorano Aoto ) is a fifteen-year-old student younger than Sadjo and Kusakabe in two classes. Despite his age, Sorano looks like an adult because he is tall and skinny. Like Manabu, he suffered from unrequited love, because in high school, Fujino's basketball player rejected his feelings. Even despite the fact that Aoto is a minor, moreover, a disciple who was reprimanded by Manabu, he continues to visit the neighborhood with unconventional people, Nie-teme in Shinjuku . Gradually, Aoto is more and more interested in Manabu, and later falls in love with him.
