Biography
Born December 5, 1788 in a puddle village in the vicinity of the city of Kalau. After receiving secondary education from 1808 to 1811 he studied theology in Leipzig. Until 1816 he taught at one of the secondary schools in the city of Lübben . Since 1816, he was a pastor in the village of Gross-Mesov. In 1826 he was appointed rector. He has been in this position for almost 50 years. In 1874 he retired and spent the last years of his life in Drebkau.
Scientific activity
He was engaged in onomastics, history and ethnography of the Lower Puddle. He collaborated with Ian Smoler in the study of Lower Lower Folk songs. He published his works in the journal Časopis Maćicy Serbskeje of the Serbian Matitsa and in the scientific journal Neues Lausitzische Magazin of the Verkhneluzhytsky Scientific Society , which he joined in 1844.
