Geography
It belongs to the ecological-geographical group of Western European grape varieties. Grown in France, South Africa, USA (California), Chile, Mexico, Argentina, Australia and New Zealand.
Key Features
The strength of the growth of vines is average. The leaf is medium, rounded, five-lobed, less often three-lobed. The lower surface of the sheet is covered with pubescence. Cluster cylindrical or conical. Berries of medium size, round, have a golden-yellow skin. The yield of this grape variety strongly depends on the conditions, it is of late ripening.
The first mention of it appeared in the IX century in the Loire Valley. In the records of Glenfil Abbey ( Fr. ), dating back to 845, there is a mention of it.
Application
The variety is the basis for creating a wide range of wines: dry, sparkling, dessert.
