“Earth and People” is a Soviet geographical calendar-yearbook published by the Geografg publishing house from 1958 to 1981 .
It was published in hardcover (about 300 pages; early editions in large format), contained articles describing the nature of the world, a chronicle with significant and anniversaries from the history of geography, essays on travel and research, literature essays, reference tables, entertaining tasks, teawords and geography quizzes. Prominent Soviet and foreign experts from the field of geography, natural sciences, literature, and other fields of science and culture took part in writing the articles.
