Shaykhantahur district

Shaykhantahur district ( Uzbek. Shayxontohur tumani, Shayhontoҳur fogi ) is an administrative-territorial unit of the city of Tashkent . Located in the northwestern part of the capital. The modern (2009) area is 2970 hectares, the population is 286.4 thousand people [1] .

Content

History

The area was formed on November 29, 1929 under the name Oktyabrsky . May 8, 1992 received the name Shaykhantahursky in memory of Sheikh Hovendi at-Tahur , one of the famous scientists of Maverannahr [2] .

Location and boundaries

In the north, the Shaikhantakhur district borders on the Almazar district , in the northeast and east - on the Yunusabad region , in the south - on the Chilanzar and Yakkasaray districts , in the west - on the Uchtepa district . From the north-west, the Shaykhantakhur district is limited by the Tashkent ring road and borders on the Zangiata district of the Tashkent region [3] .

The border with the Almazar district runs along Farobiy, Beruniy streets and G. Gulyama street.

The border with the Yunusabad region runs along the Ankhor Canal and the Small Ring Road.

The border with the Chilanzar and Yakkasaray districts runs along the streets of Bogiston, Baynimalinal, Bunyodkor and Uzbekistan Avenues. In the south along the border with the Chilanzar district , the Aktep Canal flows through the territory of the Shaykhantakhur district and the Aktepinskaya hydroelectric station is located.

The border with the Uchtepa district passes along Istirokhat street and the Small Ring Road [4] .

Physical Geography

The Kalkauz , Dzhangob , Nizhny Bozsu, Kukcha , Chorsu and Chukarkuprik channels flow through the territory of the Shaikhantakhur region.

Transport

The metro stations of the Chilanzar line - Milliy God , Friendship of Peoples , Pakhtakor , as well as the Uzbekistan line - Alisher Navoi , Gafur Gulyam , Chorsu , Tinchlik and Beruni [ 3] .
