Biography
Bryn Jones was born on June 17, 1961 in Manchester ( England ).
In 1982, Bryn Jones took up music, and his first project was called Eg Oblique Graph . However, the outbreak of the Lebanon War made a strong impression on Jones. Following the news, he began to study the problems of the Middle East and the origins of the conflict. Not being a Muslim and without eastern roots, Bryn Jones directed his creative activity in defense of the Muslim world [1] . In 1983, the Kabul album featured the track Muslin Gauze Muslim Prayer, which gave rise to the name of the new project, Muslimgauze [3] . At the same time, Bryn Jones never visited the Middle East [4] . He even refused the offer of the Australian record company Extreme records to visit Palestine entirely at the expense of the studio, saying that he would not step on the occupied territory [1] .
According to the musician himself, he did not use computers , samplers , etc. in music, using analog equipment, very often used percussions , which he played himself. He made live recordings and then edited them. In his music, sharp distortions of sound, an unexpected increase in volume, or, conversely, silence, are frequent.
On December 30, 1998, Bryn Jones was taken to a Manchester hospital with an unknown illness. It turned out that he was sick with a rare blood disease that led to severe pneumonia. The treatment was useless, and on January 14, 1999, Bryn Jones passed away [2] .
Discography
Muslimgauze's discography is very large: over 90 original albums on 32 labels. His full discography has more than 150 releases, or about 2000 tracks.
Bryn Jones had a significant impact on the development of the electronic music scene as such.
Jones rarely made live performances. In fact, he gave less than 10 concerts.
After his death, a lot of unreleased materials remained, albums continue to be released at present.
