Biography

He graduated from MPEI (December 1944).

From February 1945 to 2008 he worked at the Institute of Electric Welding. E.O. Paton (IES) . Head of the Department of Electrical Processes in 1950-1970, Deputy Director of the IES in 1970-1994, since 1994 - Advisor to the Directorate.

He defended his candidate (June 1948) and doctoral (November 1959) dissertations.

In 1964 he was elected a corresponding member, in 1972 - an academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR.

Scientific activity

The main directions of scientific research:

  • electromagnetic processes in transformers,
  • energy converters for welding,
  • creation of new current sources for various types of arc, electroslag, contact, electron beam, laser welding and for special metallurgy.

The author of 11 monographs and about 200 inventions.

Ranks and Awards

  • Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine (1992). Laureate of the Lenin Prize (1966), State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR (1976), State Prize of the USSR (1986), Prize of E.O. Paton (2002).
  • He was awarded the Orders of Lenin (1986), the October Revolution (1982), the Red Banner of Labor (1971), "For Merit", III art. (1998).
