It was developed by Honeywell as part of one of the programs of the Pentagon Advanced Research Programs DARPA. The unmanned helicopter is made according to the coaxial scheme. A distinctive feature is the ability to hang in the air for a long time. In 2007, the US Navy signed a $ 7.5 million contract with Honeywell for the purchase of 20 UAVs for use in Iraq. The trials in Iraq were successful. In January 2008, the US Navy ordered 186 complexes, which included 372 vehicles (two vehicles per complex). T-Hawk conducted an aerial survey of destruction at Fukushima station in April 2011.
