Murmansk State Technical University

Murmansk State Technical University ( MSTU ) is the largest higher educational institution in the Murmansk region . It was founded in 1950 as the Murmansk Higher Naval College. The structure includes 4 institutes, the faculty of training highly qualified personnel, the Murmansk Marine Fisheries College named after I.I. Mesyatsev , the Arkhangelsk Marine Fisheries College , branches in the Polar and Apatity . About 6 thousand students study at the university .

History

The Murmansk State Technical University was founded in 1950 as the Murmansk Higher Naval School , which in 1969 was renamed the Murmansk Higher Naval Engineering School . In 1975, the school was named after the Lenin Komsomol. In 1992 it was renamed the Murmansk State Academy of the Fishing Fleet . And in 1996, the Academy received its modern name.
