Tetramorium malabarense (lat.) Is a species of small-sized ants of the genus Tetramorium of the tribe Tetramoriini from the subfamily Myrmicinae of the family Formicidae [1] .

Description
Small ants are reddish brown (about 3 mm). They differ by a cellular-wrinkled head and the first tergite abdomen. The eyes are small. The antennae of the workers are 12-segmented, the mace is 3-segmented. The lateral parts of the clypeus are keeled raised near the attachment point of the antennae. Wide -angled mandibles with serrated chewing margin. Posterothorax with 2 propodeal spines. The stalk between the breast and the abdomen consists of two segments: petiolus and postpetiolus (the latter is clearly separated from the abdomen), the sting is developed, pupae are naked (without cocoon ) [1] .
Systematics
The species Tetramorium cordatum was first described in 1998 by entomologists from India S. Sheela (S. Sheela, S.) and T. Narendran (TC; Systematic Entomology Laboratory, Department of Zoology, University of Calicut , Kerala , India ) [1] .
