Geography
Located about 13 kilometers south of the village of Sharlash on the M5 Ural highway , near the village of Aratskoye .
In the immediate vicinity of the village is the Serpievsky cave complex, which includes a 15-kilometer stretch of the upper course of the Sim River with an adjacent territory on the left and right banks. It includes the caves "Bell" and " Ignatieff ."
History
The village was founded in the second half of the 18th century from serfs transported here by Colonel P.A. Beketov from his patrimony in Serpeysk (until 1634 was part of the Commonwealth ) of the Kaluga province, for work at the Ust-Katavsky plant. These settlers were nicknamed the Jaguns . In the village a church was built in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker . After the revolution, Serpievka became the center of the village council of the Katavsky district. There are also other ethnic ethnic groups of Russians resettled in these places: chapans, goruns (goryuns) [2] [3] .
