Boxer career

He made his debut in the professional ring on July 15, 1992, winning a knockout victory in the 2nd round. [2]

On July 29, 1995, in the 12th round of the former contender for the world featherweight title and second lightweight champion of the USA Francisco Seguru. [3]

Champion Fight with Harold Warren

March 13, 1998 he met with American Harold Warren in the battle for the vacant IBF world featherweight title. The fight lasted all 12 rounds. The judges unanimously gave the victory to Garcia: 119/109 and 116/112 (twice). [four]

Title Defenses

October 24, 1998, he knocked out in the 5th round of Cuban Ramon Ledon , inflicting the first defeat in his career. [five]

On January 16, 1999 he won on points the ex-world champion in the 2nd featherweight champion of Puerto Rican John John Molina . [6]

Loss of title

October 23, 1999 lost his title in a fight against Diego Corrales . Garcia lost by TKO in the 7th round. [7]

Championship fight with Hoel Casamayor

On January 6, 2001, he entered the fight against the WBA world champion in the featherweight category according to WBA Cuban Hoel Casamayor . The reigning champion won by TKO in the 9th round. [eight]

On September 22, 2001, Garcia defeated a little-known John Trigg by technical knockout in the 4th round and, after that, left boxing. [9]
