Together with Agesander, he was one of the creators of the famous sculptural group Laocoon with Sons and, according to some assumptions, could be the son of Agesandra. He also worked with the sculptor Atanador .
The time of his life is not established, but it is assumed that he lived in the II century BC. e. (less likely in the 1st century BC. e.). No details of his life are known. Pliny the Elder (... athletas et armatos et venatores sacrificantesque (Natural History, xxxiv. 8. s. 19. § 34.)) wrote about the sculptor with the same name, who created the statues from bronze.
