VAZ-2801 is a Soviet experimental model of an electric car , released in a small series, designed for transportation of small consignments.

Production and Operation
In 1975, on the basis of the VAZ-2102 station wagon, 2 prototypes with a van body were manufactured, to which the index 21029 was assigned. After several years of testing, by 1981 a trial batch of electric vehicles in the amount of 47 pieces was produced. These machines were sent to consumers in Moscow, Tolyatti, to Ukrainian enterprises, several copies were used to deliver hot food to the territory of the automobile plant [1] .
Design
The electric car was a double van with corrugated panels instead of the rear windows, there were no rear side doors. In place of the rear right door was a technological hatch for access to traction batteries.
The engine power was 25 kW, which was powered by nickel-zinc batteries with a capacity of 125 A · h with a total weight of 380 kg, mounted on an additional aluminum frame. The cruising range at a speed of 40 km / h was 110 km [2] .
