Description

Length 1.7 mm. Antennae and scapus yellowish white. The scutellum is smooth, the head is shiny. Spurs of hind tibia long, longer than first segment of hind tarsus. Scutellum without longitudinal furrows. Antennas with 6 flagellomeres, including a 2-segmented mace. Head and chest are dark (brownish-black), legs and abdomen are lighter. Group external parasites (ectoparasitoids) of caterpillars of moth moths Iridopsis herse ( Geometridae ) feeding on Cochlospermum vitifolium ( Bixaceae ) plants . They pupate in their silk cocoons next to the host caterpillar eaten. The species was first described in 2015 by the English hymenopterologist Christer Hansson ( The Natural History Museum , London , UK ) and named after Alejandro A. Valerio for his contribution to the study of taxonomy of the Hymenoptera insect order ( Hymenoptera ) [1 ] [2] .
