Louise von Plannis ( German: Luise von Ploennies ; nee Leisler; November 7, 1803 , Hanau - January 22, 1872 , Darmstadt ) is a German writer and poetess. Member of the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts of Belgium .
Was the daughter of a scientist naturalist. She married the physician Augusta von Plannis, with whom she lived in Darmstadt and from whom gave birth to seven children. After his death in 1847, she lived first in Belgium, where she was a member of the Royal Academy, then in Zeheim-Jugenheim, then returned to Darmstadt. Contained literary salon.
Most of her poetic works were published between 1844 and 1870. She mainly wrote love lyrics, patriotic poems and poetic descriptions of nature; Some of her poems were set to music by Karl Gottfried Lev. Major works: “Reiseerinuerungen in Belgien. Nebst einer Uebersicht der vlämischen Litteratur "(1845)," Gedichte "(1844)," Neue Gedichte "(1851)," Marieken von Nymvegen "(1853)," Die sieben Raben "(1862)," Lilien auf dem Felde " (1864), Savitri (1862) and a number of biblical dramas: Ruth (1864), Maria Magdalena (1870), David (1874). In 1874 a posthumous collection of poems by Plannis “Sagen und Legenden” was published. In addition, she translated from English two poetic collections, "Britannia" (1843) and "Englische Dichter" (1867).
Her son Wilhelm von Plannis became a military science writer, writer and folklorist.
