The field was discovered in 1968 by geologist Dubek Duysenbekov.
It includes 5 vertical (Main, Tukenovskaya, etc.) and 9 inclined veins (Pologaya, Yubileynaya, Glubinnaya, etc.) at a depth of 900–1300 m. The length of the veins is from 250 m to 600 m, the thickness is from a few centimeters to 1.5–2 m. Formed within the Kyzylzhar intrusive complex and volcanic fossilized sedimentary rocks of the Devonian. There are 4 types of gold :
- finely divided gold in arsenopyrite minerals;
- free gold (sizes from 0.01-0.1 to several millimeters) in cells, nests, veins of quartz ;
- fine-grained and thin-plate gold in quartz-carbonate veins;
- Thin-plate and dendritic gold associated with hypergene processes.
The average gold grade near the surface of the earth is 60–109 g / t; at a depth of 500–600 m, it decreases to 7–10 g / t.
AK Altynalmas JSC operates at the base of the field.
