Adele Anthony ( born Adele Anthony ; born October 1, 1970 ) is an Australian-American violinist . The wife of the violinist Gil Shaham .

Born on the island of Tasmania , studied at the conservatory of the University of Adelaide . In 1984, she became the youngest in the 40-year history of the winner of the contest for young performers of the ABC television and radio company. After that, she continued her education in New York at the Juilliard School under the leadership of Dorothy Delay . In 1994, she won second place at the Jacques Thibault International Competition in France, in 1996 she won the Karl Nielsen International Competition in Denmark.
She performed a number of notable recordings, including the First Violin Concerto by Philip Glass (1999, with the Ulster Orchestra conducted by Takuo Juas ), Tabula Rasa Arvo Pärt (with her husband Gil Shaham and the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra conducted by Neeme Järvi ), concerts by Jan Sibelius , Karl Nielsen , Ross Edwards .
