Theia ( Greek: Θεία “goddess”) - in ancient Greek mythology, one of the titanids , the eldest daughter of Uranus and Gaia [4] , the sister and wife of the titan Hyperion [5] , the first moon goddess, mother of Helios (Sun), Eos ( morning dawn) and Selena (moon) [6] [7] .

According to Xenagore, she gave birth to the kerkop Kandula and Atlanta from the Ocean [8] .
According to some reports, the titanides Teia and Teia, who gave birth to the Kerkop from the Ocean, are different, while the second is the daughter of the Ocean [9] .
She is also called Euriffessa [9] [10] .
In honor of Theia , the asteroid (405) Teia discovered in 1895, as well as the hypothetical ancient planet Teia are named.
