Biography
Representative of the Polish gentry clan of the Prazmovsky coat of arms " Belina ". The son of Andrzej Prazmovsky. Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church. Gnieznensky Archbishop , Primate of the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (October 11, 1666–1673). Interrex (1668-1669). Chancellor the Great Crown (1658-1666), senator. The Great Crown Chancellor (1658), the Great Crown Referendary (1652-1658). Bishop of Lutsk (December 1, 1659–1664) and Bishop of Warmia, Prince (November 13, 1664–1666). Companion of the Polish King John II Casimir . He took an active part in the conclusion of the Olive Peace (1660), which ended the Northern War. Together with Patz and Morshtyn , he headed the so-called “French party”, supporting Queen Mary-Louis in her plans to enthrone the French prince and strengthen monarchical power in Poland. The gentry accused Prazhmovsky of initiating a quarrel between the court and Jerzy Sebastian Lubomirsky and of instilling in Jan Casimir the idea of abdication, which gave him the opportunity to dispose of the crown as a primate. After the abdication of Jan Casimir in 1668, he supported the idea of the accession to the Polish throne of Moscow Tsar Fedor III Alekseevich .
Prazhmovsky was an opponent of the election of Mikhail Koribut Vishnevetsky to the throne (voted against from the Poznanshchina ) and during his reign stood at the head of intrigues and conspiracies against the king, for which the gentry confederation in Golemb sentenced him in 1673 , however - without any practical results - to deprivation of honor, property, office and to arrest. According to the ESBE, "he was an ardent patriot, striving to eradicate the main shortcomings of Polish state law, a clever politician and an eloquent speaker, but a poor spiritual shepherd, a man who was little shy about the means of political struggle." He was buried in the Lovici Basilica.
Peruzhovsky belong to: “Wywód niewinności przeciwko niesłusznemu wyrokowi przeż konfederacyję pod Golebiem” (1672), “Mowa miana przy abdykacyi Jana Kazimierza”, “Wotum na sejmie 1672.
