Essentuki No. 20 - drinking mineral water of low salinity. Originally supplied from source No. 20, which is no longer in operation. Later, water of a similar chemical composition was extracted from well No. 2B of the Beshtaugorskoye field, as well as the Yutsk spring of the Pyatigorskoye field. It is supplied to the market by various manufacturers from various sources of Caucasian Mineral Waters . Table drinking water "Essentuki No. 20" is not a natural mineral water, as it can be a mixture of different waters [1] . At present, Essentuki No. 20 is not mined.

Historical background
For the first time, mineral water of the "Essentuki No. 20" type was obtained from spring No. 20, which hit in the area of modern Essentuki . The number in the name of mineral water indicates the number of one of 23 sources studied and classified by academician, doctor of medical sciences Alexander Petrovich Nelyubin in 1823. At the same time, the keys with the numbers 17 and 4 turned out to be the richest in terms of water volume and mineral composition, and the next most valuable was drinking mineral water of low salinity source No. 20 of the Essentuki mineral water deposit.

Initially, natural water was used from source No. 20. Then, under the brand name “Essentuki No. 20,” water was used from various sources [1] :
- from well 2B of the Beshtaugorsky field in the Piedmont region of the Stavropol Territory, 13 km from the city of Essentuki, the depth of the well is 998 m;
- from the Yutsk source of the Pyatigorsk field;
- a mixture of water from wells No. 9 and 75 bis of the Buguntinsky section of the Essentuki mineral water field.
