Creation History
Development began on November 11, 2002, which is reflected in the working title "11.11" [1] . The operating system was first announced in October 2012 on the blog of Evgeny Kaspersky [2] . In December 2013, beta-testing of the system by partner companies became known [3] .
| Firstly, our system is highly specialized, it is developed to solve a specific problem, and is not intended for playing Half-Life, editing video or communicating on social networks. Secondly, we are working on a method of writing software that, in principle (by design), will not be able to perform undeclared functionality in it ... this is a proven and verifiable thing.Eugene Kaspersky 10/16/2012 |
Kaspersky Lab does not plan to create a distribution available to end users. The operating system will be distributed through integration partners implementing industrial ACS. In an interview with Gazeta.ru in October 2014, Eugene Kaspersky said:
| There are several companies that have already begun to make their own hardware on our operating system. They are not on sale yet.Eugene Kaspersky [4] |
During the work on the protected OS, the Kaspersky Security System module appeared, which can also be integrated into PikeOS or Linux . In February 2015, a partnership was announced with SYSGO, the manufacturer of PikeOS [5] .
On August 18, 2016, the work on the operating system was announced and it became known about the first partner on whose equipment Kaspersky OS will be installed - these are Kraftway's routers (L3 switches) [6] .
On February 15, 2017, the system was officially released [7] .
In 2019, Kaspersky Lab is developing a secure mobile operating system (OS) based on the existing KasperskyOS [8]
