TKB-464 - Soviet experienced single machine gun . He participated in the competition for a universal machine gun for the armed forces of the USSR to replace the easel SGM and manual RP-46 along with machine guns Kalashnikov, Nikitin-Sokolov , Garanin , Shilin and Gryazev . The first draft version was introduced in 1955. In 1956 he participated and did not pass the competition due to the transverse deformation of the liners. The machine gun is based on the construction of the SGM . Designed by the designers of the Tula Central Design Bureau-14 V. I. Silin and V. F. Pererushev [1] [2] .
