Eismitte ( German: Eismitte ) - polar station of the third Greenland expedition of Alfred Wegener (1930-1931). The station was located on the Greenland ice sheet 402 km from the coast. The premises of the station were dug in the snow or made up of snow blocks. Eismithte was located at a point with coordinates at an altitude of 3010 m above sea level , in the present territory of the Greenland National Park , somewhat north of the border of the Illokkortoormiut municipality, which was abolished in 2009.
The climate is continental arctic. The average temperature of the coldest month (February) is −47 ° C, and the warmest (July) is −12 °. The minimum temperature is −65 °, the maximum −2 °. Precipitation on average per year falls in the region of 109.2 mm [1] .
