Bolotudu (from the bamboo bolo 'arm' + tudu 'to set') is a West African folk game [1] , beloved in Sudan [2] .
Rules
The game is played on a 6 × 5 rectangular board. Each of the partners has 12 chips (sticks and pebbles are traditionally used), which they take turns, two at a time, put on the board. At the same time, it is forbidden to bet three of your chips in a row. When all the chips are placed, then they move one cell vertically and horizontally. When building three in a row, the opponent’s chip adjacent to the side of the three is removed. The composition of the three should include a chip, which the player goes further [3] (according to other known rules, the three can be reused). When one of the opponents has only two chips left, he lost. When repeating moves, a draw is counted [4] .
There are options for playing on 18 cells (6 chips each) and 9 cells (3 chips each) [1] .

The initial arrangement is very important (Africans pass it on from generation to generation [3] ), although in the future game there is a chance to correct mistakes. There are several advantageous positions that allow you to beat many moves in a row or guarantee a draw (see diagrams) [5] .
