Biography
Born on a small farm. Initially, he studied medicine, but refused to study for theology . He was ordained deacon of the Anglican Church . After the refusal of consecration, he joined the Calvinists of the Methodist Church ( Calvinist Methodists ). He was a staunch supporter of the Calvinist Reformation and opposed the followers of Arminianism , Arianism and Socianism and other teachings.
He traveled extensively throughout Wales, preaching the teachings of Calvinist Methodists. He died in 1791.
Creativity
Williams wrote his religious hymns, mainly in Welsh. They are still heavily used in various religious events in Wales. Many of his hymns were compiled and published in English. The most famous poetic works are “Hosanna to the Son of David” and “Gloria in excelsis”.
