Club career

Musonda began his professional career at the Kalulushi Modern Stars club. Soon, Joseph joined the Nkana club, which he played for from 1995 to 2003, having won the Zambian Championship twice (in 1999 and 2001) and won the Cup in 2000.

In 2003, the defender joined another Zambian club - ZESKO United . For two years, Musonda spent 89 meetings for the team from Ndola, scored 1 goal. In 2005, Joseph was leased for six months to the South African club Free State Stars , for which he played 25 matches.

In 2006, Musonda returned to ZESKO United and became its owner in the Zambia Cup [1] . The following season, Joseph played for Zanako .

In 2007, Musonda signed a contract with the South African club Golden Arrows . The Zambian spent his debut match on August 25, 2007 against the Free State Stars [2] . At the club from Durban, the Zambian played for seven seasons and in 2009 became the winner of the Cup of Eight .

On August 15, 2014, it was announced that the defender left Golden Arrows, having flown out of the Premier League of South Africa , and joined Polokvana City. On August 26, the Zambian began speaking for the new team, leaving the starting lineup in a meeting with Moroka Swellows [3] .

Joseph has been playing for the Zambian national team since 2002.

Musonda was included in the application for the African Cup of Nations 2006 in Egypt. The tournament spent all three matches of his team [4] [5] [6] . In 2008, at the African Cup of Nations in Ghana, Joseph again held all three meetings of the Zambians without substitutions [7] [8] [9] .

At the tournament in Angola in 2010, Musonda was again a key player in the defense of his team, who lost to the Nigerians in the quarter-finals in the penalty shootout [10] .

At the 2012 African Championship in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, which was victorious for Zambians , Joseph again took part in all the games of his team. In the final match with the Ivorians, the defender was injured at the 12th minute of the meeting and was forced to leave the field [11] .

The following year, Musonda was included in the application for CAN 2013 , but the Zambians were not able to repeat the success of 2012.

Joseph also took part in the qualifying games for the 2006 and 2010 World Championships [12] , but the Zambians failed to qualify for the world championships.
