São José dos Campos or Val do du Paraíba i Litoral Norte ( port Região Metropolitana do Vale do Paraíba e Litoral Norte ) is a large metropolitan area in Brazil . Center - the city of São José dos Campos . Included in the state of Sao Paulo . It is located east of the city and the metropolitan area of the same name São Paulo .
The population is 2,358,600 people in 2014 [1] . It covers an area of 16192.77 km². The population density is 145.66 people / km² in 2014.
It includes 39 municipalities of the Vali do Paraiba Paulista mesoregion, including the cities and municipalities of São José dos Campos , Taubate , Jacarei , Pindamonigangaba , Guaratingeta , Caraguatatuba , Casapava , Lorena , Ivatuba , San Sebrujan and others.
