Figure skating Grand Prix 2015/2016

The Grand Prix of Figure Skating 2015/2016 is a series of annual commercial figure skating tournaments among the best skaters on the planet (according to the ISU rating), which will be held in autumn and early December 2015 . Athletes in the 6 stages of the series will compete in the categories of men's and women's single skating, pair skating and ice dancing. Points will be awarded for occupied places from 15 (for the first) to 3 (for the eighth). The top six athletes (pairs) will perform in the final of the junior series. Among adults, there will be seven participants (pairs) in the final. Also in August-October 2015, the stages of the youth Grand Prix will be held; seven stages will be completed. The final will take place along with the main one.

Members

In the series of the Grand Prix of Figure Skating of the season 2015-2016, skaters who have reached the age of 15 years on July 1, 2015 have the right to participate [1] .

Since last season, it was decided to admit up to 12 singles to both the men and women to the Grand Prix series.

To take part in the Grand Prix of the season, skaters had to earn at least the following points in tournaments before the start of the series:

Adult Tournament

Schedule

ISU in the spring of 2015 decided on the places and time of the stages of the Grand Prix for the fall of 2015 [2] . The final, it was decided to hold again in Barcelona [3] .

Qualification for the II Winter Youth Olympic Games

Second Stage

At the stages of the Junior Grand Prix, the second stage of the skaters qualification for the II Winter Youth Olympic Games 2016 in Lillehammer ( Norway ), which will be held in February next year , will be held.

4 quotas for boys and girls and 3 quotas in pairs and sports dances will be drawn. If the representatives of the owners in any of the species do not qualify in the usual way, then the Grand Prix quotas will be reduced by one for the Norwegian skaters.

  • * - Norway refused the only place at the Olympics in men's, doubles and ice dancing. Which they received as owners. Got the right to speak at competitions: a single player from Finland , a sports couple from South Korea and a dancing couple from the Czech Republic .

Reserve Skaters

Reserve skaters will be ready to perform at the Winter Olympic Games if it becomes impossible to compete with the declared skaters if there are no substitutes in these countries.

Grand Prix Adult Composition

The adult composition of the Grand Prix participants is fully regulated by the rules of the ISU. According to the results, the participants of the Final are determined.

Medal standings

At the last six stages of the Grand Prix, 24 sets of medals were to be played. However, the fourth stage in Bordeaux was not completed. Only 20 sets of medals were won. This table is provided after the Grand Prix finals.
