Race
This race was notable for the fact that this is the first Grand Prix, which was broadcast in Russia on the RTR television channel. The broadcast was first conducted by Russian Formula 1 commentators Alexei Burkov and Alexey Popov . It was drizzling with little rain; from the start, Jean Alesi broke from 8th place to 3rd, as many thought thanks to the false start , but no punishment followed. Patrese made the almost impossible squeezing between Schumacher and Senna broke out on the 2nd. Mansell retained the lead. As expected, the advantage of Renault engines made itself felt, and two Williams race cars gradually came off the rest of the peloton. On the 7th lap, Schumacher beat Alesi with a beautiful overtaking and went to 3rd place. On the 8th lap, Senna also beat Alesi and reached the 4th. Then Alesi missed and Berger fell to 6th place, but literally on the next lap Alesi regained 5th position. Mansell and Patrese , meanwhile, broke away from the rest of the peloton for 15 seconds. On the 13th circle, the struggle between Alesi and Berger reached its zenith; Berger provoked a clash and, with an unauthorized reception, deployed the Alesi car in the Persol turn. On the 16th circle it began to rain heavily. It would seem that this should give Senna an advantage, but this did not happen. The Williams team riders farther and farther away from the rest, on the 18th lap having opened it was already 25 seconds and only the case could prevent the winning double of this team. And this same incident occurred on the 19th lap. During the overtaking of the circular Patrese flew off the track and broke his car on the fence. The first to replace the intermediate rubber for rain calls in on the 27th lap of Alesi , who was walking in 6th position. On lap 41, Alesi was unable to overtake Hakkinen for a long time and in a close fight in the corner Seat pushed him off the track, but both were able to continue the race. On the 45th lap of Alesi, in the Elf turn on fresher tires, his partner walked along the Ferrari Ivan Capelli and went to 5th place. On the 51st lap, it began to rain very heavily, Mansellβs rubber began to take in. Due to the worsening weather conditions on the 56th circle, Senna made a mistake and flew a little off the track, but was able to return to the track without losing his position. Mansell began to take risks at the end of the race, sometimes he even entered into turns with a skid, but it seems that nothing could stop him before the 4th victory in a row from the beginning of the season. on the 56th circle, Alesi easily beat Berger for 4th place and rushed to catch up with the 3rd Senna coming. On the 63rd lap Senna made a mistake in the turn and flew off the track. For him, this is the third gathering in 4 races from the beginning of the season. Meanwhile, Mansell wins the 4th race in a row (25th in his career) and earns 40 points out of 40 possible since the start of the season.
