Thor (from English - “Thor”) is a Canadian heavy metal band, founded in 1977 by John Mick Thor, existed under different names in different years.

History
In 1973, a native of Austria, John Mickle Thor (his real name is John Mickle) founded his first group called Centaur, but soon, in the same 1973, changing its name to Mikl Body Rock and existed with that name until 1976, when the project finally received a more appropriate name Thor and the Imps, and soon, shortened to a more concise - Thor, in honor of the god of war in Norse mythology.
In the same year, the band released its first studio album , Keep the Dogs Away , which in Canada sold about 50,000 copies. The album received mixed reviews.
In 1985, the second album, entitled Only the Strong .
