History

Panorama of Demsky district

The status of the city district of Dyom was assigned on March 6, 1944 by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR .

The emergence and development of the region is inextricably linked with the development of railway transport. According to the construction project of the Samara-Zlatoust railway , in 1887 the Dema crossing was built, consisting of three acceptance paths and a cross-impregnation plant . The station received powerful development during the years of the prewar five - year plans .

During the Great Patriotic War, the importance of the Demsk railway junction increased significantly. Workers on steel highways have made a worthy contribution to the victory over Nazi Germany . The legendary 112th Bashkir cavalry division, formed in 1941 on the Demskoye land, increased fame.

In the 1940s, the area of the working village was only about 17 thousand square meters, and the population was 5 thousand people, almost all of them lived in private houses. There were 700 households and several two-story buildings with a total area of 10.5 thousand m².
