Richard Panik ( Slovakian Richard Pánik ; February 7, 1991 , Martin , Czechoslovakia ) is a professional Slovakian hockey player, right-handed forward of the Washington Capitals NHL club. Slovak national team player.

Game career

On a professional level, Panik spent two part-time seasons in the Czech Extralig , playing for the Ocelargi club. He also played in the second Czech league for the Havirov .

In 2009, in the NHL draft, Panic chose Tampa in the second round. He became the first Slovak to be selected in this draft. A total of 5 of his compatriots were selected. In the same year, on the KHL draft, HC Avtomobilist was selected under the 69th common number.

On July 1, 2015, Panik extended the contract with Toronto for one year [1] .

On January 3, 2016, Toronto traded the Panic at Chicago Blackhawks for Jeremy Morin [2] .

In the summer of 2016 extended the contract with the "hawks" for another year. [3] In the regular season 2016–17, Richard scored 22 goals, setting a personal record. He also became the leader of Chicago in power techniques (147). Despite the unsuccessful playoffs (defeat in the first round by Nashville Predators 0–4), on May 11, 2017, the Blackhawks extended the contract with Panic for 2 years with an annual salary of $ 2.8 million. In January 2018, Chicago traded Panic to Arizona Coyotes for Anthony Duckler [5] .
