The film tells about the life of black teenagers, children of immigrants from the islands of the Caribbean , in London in the late 1970s . The main role was played by Brinsley Ford, a member of the reggae group Aswad . Carl Howman and Trevor Laird also took part in the film. Dennis Bowell wrote the music for the film. The film also features songs by Aswad, Johnny Clark, Jeff Wayne and others [2] .
The film was shot in areas of London: Deptford and Brixton .
Content
Story
Brinsley Ford's hero is a London teenager, a car mechanic by day, and a musician at night. The film tells the story of his life and the life of his friends in London. Heroes are constantly confronted with racism , poverty and lack of opportunities.
David is kicked out of work, where he is forced to listen to insults. Hooligans chasing him in a car, he becomes a victim of police beatings and false accusations. Goes on the run, leaves home, quarrels with his girlfriend, meets rastamans . In anger, he beats up a racist neighbor.
Together with all this, the friends go to the finals of the music competition, where they will face the main battle.
